The partners of Elite Surgical, P.C. pride ourselves in providing physicians with experienced surgical assistants for scheduled and emergent surgical procedures. Rather than hospitals employing a large staff of surgical assistants, it is now standard to see surgeons working in conjunction with independent surgical assistants. Physicians rely on a skilled surgical assistant who can collaborate and function as the assistant surgeon. With the use of the robot, the physician operates from a console while the surgical assistant manages the surgical field. The expanded use of robotic surgery is extremely beneficial because it is less invasive and has many advantages over traditional surgery. These advantages include a significant reduction in hospitalization time, a shorter overall recovery time and significantly fewer complications.
